2000 Caldwell Vineyards Syrah
This fruit comes from the sloping hillsides of John Caldwell's vineyard at the 500 ft. elevation in Napa Valley. We are proud to be releasing our first vintage of this flamboyantly aromatic and enormously concentrated wine.

This Syrah is a mixture of the best of California ripeness and a love for wines of the Northern Rhône. A wild blackberry and cassis fruit bomb that is laced with hints of smoked game, roasted herbs, vanilla bean and lavender. A perfect wine for grilled meats and hearty stews.

James Laube, Wine Spectator Weekly: 90 points
Ultrarich and unctuous, with lots of depth to currant, cola, beef, roasted herb, cassis and black cherry flavors. Ripe tannins carry through the finish, along with nicely integrated toasty oak. Drink now through 2006.
