2009 Musci Vineyard Syrah
“We have witnessed this vineyard go from ‘searching for its way’ to ‘I know where I am and I can tell you where I am going’. Always one of the most elegant Syrahs and definitely the most lush and unctuous of the bunch, this year’s is no different.” Tasting Notes Planted to the 470 clone of Syrah (the Babe Ruth of Syrah), this vineyard is really showing what it has for the 2009 vintage. Blackberry pie filling, rounded out with garrigue don’t just soar from this inky purple, wine stained glass, but truly explode out of it. Very fruit forward, with layers of French vanilla bean, roasted earth and smoked white pepper.
