2001 Cuvée Gaillard

"Last year I spent time in the Rhône working with Pierre Gaillard and came up with the crazy idea to do a blend of American and French Syrah, a collaboration of winemakers and vineyards. Our goal was to produce a wine that showed the best of both worlds."  -Jeff Cohn

Tasting Notes

This wine is very focused on the cool climate aspects of each vineyard, with freshly crushed white pepper, black cherry cola and roasted herbs de Provence having the most focus in the wine. Layers of smoked game, minerals, and cassis with subtle spiced vanilla bean complete the wine. The result is a wine that is very rich but also demonstrates finesse and elegance.
