2001 Fess Parker Syrah
The Fess Parker's Vineyard is chosen from 4 parcels or blocks. Three different French Syrah clones make up this great wine. The Combination of warm daytime temperatures and cool evenings resulting from unique east-west orientation of the Santa Ynez Valley along with sandy loamy soil creates ideal conditions for grape maturation." - Jeff Cohn Tasting Notes Black cherries, blackberries, herbs de Provence, cracked black peppercorns and olives laced in smoke and vanilla bean. The aromatic and flavor profiles are the perfect combination for bistro style foods and great conversation.
2009 Fess Parker Syrah
Winemaker Jeff Cohn's preferences for high ripeness and lavish oak are in full evidence here, but so are loads of very deep fruit and a wealth of rich Syrah spice. The wine runs from blackberries and dark chocolate to caramel and peppered beef, and, while quite full and fleshy, it is surprisingly well-balanced. It has so much extract as to make moot its minor heat, and it is sufficiently tannic to prescribe at least four or five years of age. --CG

by a firmly structured, peppery, cassis-scented and flavored,

concentrated, thick finish. Give it 1-2 years of cellaring and drink it
over the following 10-12 years.

blueberry fruit. Gains complexity with its roasted grain, nut and fresh
ground coffee flavors. Ripe tannins on the finish. Drink now through
